Here's another tire calculator:http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.aspThose skinny tires will make that Avy handle like a tugboat in forty foot waves. You can get new 17" wheels that look good for around $120 ea. and decent tires around the same amount.265/70/17 priceswheels around $120 from Summit Racing You can easily get $300 bucks or more for your set of OEM wheels getting you new tires and wheels around $600 bucks total that's what I did on mine.
pre 1999 gm 16" rims will rub the rear calipers they were made for drums... just sayin
Painting the factory rims are not that difficult. I did that on my 02 truck. I can do a write up if you want on how to prep them.Sent from my PG06100 using Tapatalk
He's the write up Hun http://www.chevyavalancheclub.com/index.php?topic=12864. Lemme know if u have any questions.
I bought it at pep boys by my house so I don't think you'll have an issue with finding it at auto zone or what not. And make sure that you use wheel paint. Regular spray paint will not stick or hold up to the weather and conditions and everything your rims see. I had a friend of mine try to use reg spray paint and he wound up having to strip the paint and respray them with wheel paint.
I'm sure that any wheel paint will do. I personally just like duplicolor. That was also bought at pep boysSent from my PG06100 using Tapatalk
The dupli color paint is enamel based its made specifically to help clean up or restore wheels. If you go to the duplicolor website and click products and look at the wheel coating section it will show you everything. Also when u start scuffing and sanding it should get rid of the pitting n the rim. My old truck had 150k+ on it when I painted the rims and I had no pitting. I would use wheel paint.
