Bakup Camera Went Black
« on: April 10, 2011, 06:56:11 PM »
Traded my 04 Z71 in on this 07 LTZ. It has the factory Nav with backup sensors and backup camera. Yesterday out of the blue the camera quit working. Any suggestions?

a fuse maybe?  :dunno: It's fuse number 43 in the underhood box. It's also the cruise control fuse.

Nope, fuse 43 is fine,  its listed as Misc Ign. I even pulled the black cover off the tailgate to make sure it was still connected, so I am back at square one. The video system up front recognizes and tried to show, but its black, and the sensors work.

Ok, I might have looked at the fuse box wrong in the online owners manual. Is your cruise control working because the manual I looked at says it's on the same fuse? It may be a different fuse than what I posted so keep checking the fuse box for one labeled B/U camera. I hate to say get a new camera (junkyard if possible) unless we know that's what's wrong with it. The unit itself will try to display the camera input as soon as you go into reverse is why the screen changes to the video input. You can also remove the inner panel of the tailgate and check the wiring to make sure the plug in there hasn't come undone. That's just labor involved there. No parts other than a beverage to enjoy while you're checking it out.
