Bug Deflector
« on: May 08, 2007, 07:33:56 PM »
I recently installed a new AVS deflector II for the trip to MCM to help protect the nose. I'm not sure if I want to keep it on or just use it for road trips. What do you guys think?

I think our trucks look better without them.

With mine it blends in more than most other colors.

Also I can't get the upper chrome piece to stay without it so its gonna stay.

All window plastics, hood plastics.  I removed all of them.  I wanted that "cover of a magazine" look :thumb:

I only kept the sunroof plastic and is getting painted :thumb:

Just installed an AVS Bugflector II on my Av today and I'm considering replacing it already with another AVS product called the Hoodflector which is a low profile version of the Bugflector II.  There's just something about the Bugflector II that makes me think it sticks out too far on the hood of the vehicle.

See? thats what modders do.  They replace mods on a jiffy when they dont look as expected. God knows how many mods i have up in the shelf collecting dust wondering whats going to happen with them.

Just wait till you get the wind noise at 65mph Boiler. I've printed out instructions to take care of that also.

I have an AVS bug shield too - don't know if it's the bugflector or Hoodflector, but I like it.  Just watch your hands when your drying under it-tends to be a bit sharp...

I ended up doing clearbra on mine and now I know why people pay three and four hundred dollars for it. That stuff is hard to get on right with no bubbles or wrinkles but once you get the hang of it it's not too bad.
The only problem with this that I have seen is that it discolors on the lighter colored vehicles.

I appreciate the thought. I was just wondering if anyone had some wheels or a CAI or anything along that road that they might be willing to part with at a reasonable price.

Mine came with the bug guard and the window vents, but already im thinking about taking the bug guard off because the bottom edge of mine hangs over the top of the headlights, and bc its slightly broken in one spot, when I go fast enough, it makes an optical illusion that makes me think that my hood is shaking up and down.  Any thoughts?

Take it off for a few weeks and see how well you like it without it.
