When it rains, it pours!
« on: March 09, 2011, 10:42:10 AM »
Im sitting in a repair shop right now having the front right hub assembly replaced in Twiggy's Avy. It died on the way down here to Missouri last night. I'm on vacation to see my stepson graduate basic training at Ft Leonardwood so I'm not about to do it in the hotel parking lot even though Donnie offered to bring tools down. I appreciate the offer bud :yourock:  In the meantime I get a call from my mechanic back home telling me that the gas leak on mine is because the plastic lines on the top of the fuel filter rotted/broke. He's changing that out for me. AAARRRGGGGGG!!!!!

Twiggy's was back on the road in less than an hour. There's an O'reiily's right next to the shop. $280 out the door.

I had priced them before at AZ with the timken bearings in it at$ 190. Not sure which one they used but its cheaper than my fuel pump for sure.

I agree. If they only charged you about $100 for installation you did all right. So where did you have it done - Ft. Wood or Rolla or elsewhere? I'm just curious since I spent 4 years at Rolla. I didn't spend any time around Ft. Wood so I don't know much about what's around there; I've only been on the base one time.
2002 LPM Z71, factory 4.10s - Magnacharger w/3" pulley, TOG's headers, 216/224-.551/.551-115 cam/pushrods/dual springs/titanium retainers, built tranny, Yank TT2600 stall converter, 24K GVW Tru-Cool tranny cooler,  Flex-A-Lites, ProCold intake, MSD wires & TR6 plugs, 20" Panther Juice 6's, 2.8" rear lowering springs & assorted hardware, J&J Enterprises stainless grille, body-color painted taillight covers. Self-tuned with HP Tuners software.

Cracked rear bumper cover from a run-in with a deer in fall 2008!
