Some specifications if you need them. GM Upfitter manuals These manuals include detailed specifications for the chassis.
I'm starting to think you're gonna need a bigger garage
Well after a couple hours into it I have a Dmax under the Avalanche This is the first test fit of the body. Looks like a make!!!
I used the front half of the silverado frame a the rear from the spare 2500 frame. I sectioned them under the rear door in the GM recommended spot
Looks like youre not finding time to climb towers anymore
I didnt know the 2500 sat that high. Thats a huge gap from the wheels to the wheel well. Did you also used the duramax chassis?
Don't need a lift kit now do ya? Hehehehe
Just fired her up with the key... She's aliveLong way to go but yay
So how much of the interior wiring do you have done? You've done a helluva lot with what little time you've actually spent on it.
I think we need to start calling you Dr. Frankenstein!
one thing I'm having fun with is the fuel gage is working backward.... guess that's another difference between 2002 an 2005.I tried reversing the wiring at the tank but so far no love........
yep, had to. not much of the 02 left. The sender is 02 cause the donor one was broke, I think that is the root of the issue. The diesel sender alone cost more than a fuel pump and sensor for my 02Nothing like dropping $100 in the tank and it say your low on fuel
ya!!! the fuel gauge worksThe new interior looks good to Getting closer
god I love driving this monster around.
Looks like my fuel sender needs some more work. Ran out of fuel at an 1/8 tank on a hill. Do you now how hard it is to convince someone to bring 5 gallons of diesel to an Avalanche. " they don't make diesel Avalanches sir" click
its still broke....now the trans in my blue one is gone again
Note to self. Don't let Jon use any of our Avy's while he's on vacation if in the area. He keeps breaking them.
I know you're not referring to me, but I havent broke anything...yet, lol. Not until Enkei helps me install bigger sway bars at the next meet so I can take turns at 75 mph, lol.Too bad the trannys gone in the other one...dont you have 3 altogether? I wonder what its like to have to choose what to drive, i only knew about that feeling for a week when I had both my yukon and avy insured and registered at the same time. I also found out just now that i ramble a lot, lolJon
Alaska Avy has the same spelling as you do with the same first name. He started the thread so I was referring to him.
Don't you have a nice 4L85E tranny out of the other 2500 Avy? As much as you have had them apart you could probably swap them with a pair of channel locks, a hammer and a few cold ones
Keep us updated... You know with all the floods around here there are some nice New body Av's that need new motors.. One of them with a D-max would be Sweet....
well got her running again. time to start finishing all the loose endsdid full time drl's and all 4 high on her today to wine down
psssstI love driving this thing
It ain't done yet But the radio and engine work
