Go Hot Rod!
Well, my bottle valve seal leaks. :'( CFN offered to fix it but it would take a while so I guess I'll try to do it myself.

I didn't have a bottle valve seal leaking, I had one MISSING! They put it together without the o-ring that seals the bottle to the valve. The valve was a PITA to get broke loose but I got it, put in a 20 cent o-ring. I'll try filling it again Saturday. With a little luck, I may have some free time Saturday to get it wired up and do some testing.I'm still waiting on my MSD rpm pills for the window switch but I can test it with out them.
How about a shot of the sippin water? :thumb:
Are you in 4 wheel drive when your on the track? Just curious.
IT IS ALIVE!I started easy, a 35hp shot. It likes it. I can't say that it made the same difference as the supercharger while using that small of a shot but I can see it in the data logs. Without going back through all of my old logs to get exact numbers, it appears to have knocked about .3 off my 0-60 time. I also can feel and hear it in the amount of tire spin. If I step it up, traction may be a problem.I said "if" but after looking at the log, I've already put a set of 50hp jets in it but haven't tried it with them yet. I'll see how it like a 50 shot tomorrow. ;)

Well good news and bad news. I just tested the 50 shot and got a log. Everything seems great if anything I'm a little on the rich side but zero KR. The bad news isn't that bad. The first time, I eased into it from a 10mph roll. I was watching the laptop for issues more than anything. There was no reason not to launch it and get a 0-60 log but it started sprinkling rain so I can't look at time to see what difference it made in actual performance. At least I know it's safe to run it. I did take the damp roads as an opportunity to try a 4x4 launch which I may have to do on the track. It's a strange feeling to feel the front end squirm when you take off and again when it shifts. :-/I will say that it felt stronger. That's the first time that I've ever eased into the throttle and heard the back tires scream for mercy and the pavement was still dry when I did that.
What kinda timing you running with that setup..... if you don't mind me asking.....
You know me better than that... I don't guess at anything when it comes to a tune..... :)and you never answered the other question..... have you installed the pill in the window switch yet?
Well, I leaned it out a hair and DAYUM! I went from the 50hp nitrous jet to a 60hp nitrous jet but left the fuel jet alone. It woke it up more than going from the 35hp pill set to the 50hp. The IAT's are still a little high but somewhat better. Also, traction is now definitely an issue even with 12.5" wide tires. I did a log in 4x2 and another one in 4x4 and got a better 0-60 time in 4x4.

Are we now going to have to start saying: ? ;)
Hey Rick, speaking of timing, I wonder how much advance I could add in if the tank was about 50/50 with 93 octane Chevron and 110 race gas? They sell it at the track and I could reflash my current tune before leaving the track and filling the tank.

Yeah Bob, I think you're going to get into the 8s next weekend! :)
I was thinking about adding 2deg across the board from about 3600rpm up if I decide to buy race gas at the track. Sound reasonable?
Did i tell you i almost bought one of these a couple weeks ago? Is that kit from tbyrne? wet or dry?

I bought it direct from Cold Fusion so that I could get it customized for my application. I did buy My window switch from Tbyrne.I was really hoping that someone would put a N2O kit on a 1500 with a stock engine and bring it to MCM for the drag strip. I would like to see real world numbers against another similar AV without nitrous. It's not that much money for the amount of hp that you get.Of course, if you use it everyday the nitrous bill would be expensive.I'm running a small shot because of the blower. A NA truck could spray a lot more. ;)

For any of you that don't already know. By the time that I get to MCM, I be spraying a little nitrous in addition to the supercharger.I'm using a Cold Fusion wet kit, that they customized a little for me. I can't say enough about the customer service guys willingness to work with me and build the kit that I wanted.First, the majority of these kits are installed in F-bodies and Vettes and they come with a 15' feed line. I knew that would be a stretch in a AV so they replace it with a 18' line. I also needed a "T" adapter so I could continue to run my fuel pressure gauge. The jets that normally come with the kit aren't very suitable for spraying it behind a supercharger. I think that the kit normally comes with jets for 50,75, 100, and 150hp settings. They swapped those out for 35,50,60, and 75hp jets for me. They also threw in a plug for the N2O line so that I can seal it off when I don't want the bottle in my bed.http://www.coldfusionnitrous.com/products.aspx Here's a web pic of the basic kit:I got started on the install yesterday. I would say that I'm about 50% done. I've made a mounting system that can be removed from the truck in under 1 minute to have the bed available for hauling stuff. What I did was cut a 2"x6" the right width to slide into the vertical groves that are in the bed liner and screwed a flat piece of 3/4" MDF. The bottle brackets are screwed to the MDF. It's not the prettiest thing in the world but it serves the purpose. In addition to having the bottle mounted, I got the feed line ran but not zip-tied yet, the injector nozzle installed, the solenoids mounted and all of the other lines except for the fuel rail to solenoid line.I have discovered that the WOT switch is made for a F-body and our intakes are much taller. I'm going to have to either fab a bracket from scratch or mount it in the cab and trigger it with the gas pedal. Not sure yet. I'm also leery of the "T" adapter that they sent meThere were some other differences in the AV and a F-body that caused me to make adjustment to the kit but nothing too bad.I have also ordered a Window switch from Tbryne Motorsports, so I won't attempt any wiring till I get it.
do a lot of people do this on the avalanche? and is it more for racing?
