2011 Avi w/ factory DVD/NAV unit can't play DVD's???
« on: February 03, 2011, 05:50:50 PM »
Hey I just bought a new chevy avalanche and i put about 6 different popular DVD's in and can't seem to get them to play. I did it in park and i even tried to do it with the E-Brake on and all it comes up with is that it can't read the disk. . . any suggestions. . . or do i need to bring it to the dealer? Thanks everyone

Odd.   I was going thru the manual, and it states the DVD will take up to 30 seconds to play.  Also, the DVD player, plays movies depending on the region.  I think the U.S. is region 1.

The dealer may show/fix this for ya for free.

I hope someone else with the new body style chimes in for ya.

can it play a CD? .... is it a copied DVD or a purchased DVD from a rep. store?

are you putting the DVD in the correct slot? .... there is a slot behind the screen that is for the Nav disc only ..... the slot above the screen should play DVD's .... if it is not a copied disc, can play CD's then a trip to the dealer is required .....

do you have rear seat entertainment? ..... if no, you may have an Av with a radio that will not play DVD's ....
