Storing my AV for the winter

 Last time i drove my AV was sometime in November.  I dont want the battery to drain sitting there for the winter.
Whats the proper way to disconnect the battery? I dont want to loose the settings or memory.

You pull the negative side?  Is that right?  :blink1:

Don't disconnect the battery, buy a Ctec battery tender or a Battery Tender Plus and hook it up. I've currently got a Ctec and like it better than the Battery Tender Plus I had and that someone else thought they needed worse than me.

Regarding the original question, yes you disconnect the negative terminal.

I've got a battery tender on my bike and it's pretty simple. I haven't heard of the other one you mentioned.

I just hooked the leads up and leave them on. Plug one end into the cords on the bike and the other end into an outlet.

I bought mine on Amazon.com. I checked for highly-rated sellers with a cheap price. I bought the "800" model.

The Ctec is a "smarter" unit than the battery tender as it has more modes - it has a special mode for agm batteries like the Optimas.

Well it looks like I lied to you. After you posted the picture it didn't look like the one I bought. I checked and I actually bought the 3300 model.

You'll want to put it on the "snowflake" mode for your Optima battery.
