running board mod
« on: January 07, 2011, 01:03:08 AM »
Diane, my wife wanted running boards on her project Avalanche. We didnt want to blow $500+ on new ones and I couldn't find any stock ones , used in the state or parts....

long story, short, I found 4 unidentified boards in a pile on the ground behind a junk store. offered up $30. the brackets were all wrong so I found 2 sets of avalanche brackets on Ebay for $80

drilled out the welds on the old brackets, trimmed the boards to fit better, marked and bolted on the new brackets in place, Making Momma a happy girl.

Shipping on something like that would have been outrageous to Alaska. I'm sure that's his biggest headache trying to find parts.

Nice work (as usual)  They look like the stock boards of a WBH.

WHERE IT REALLY IS ABOUT THE FRIENDS AND AVY'S, AND NOT THE ALMIGHTY ADVERTISING DOLLAR!

Well aren't you the MacGyver of the Avalanche world!  Those look great.  :goodstuff:
2011 Silverado, Ext Cab Z-71 5.3, 6L80, Airaid CAI, Magnaflow cat-back, and a little tuning by me and HPT.

Gone but not forgotten, 2002 Victory red. The quickest lifted 4x4 AV in the US in it's day.
