i like my hankooks. they are v-rated up to 140 mph(not that i drive that fast(subliminal-Fouse)) but makes me feel safe at 75mph.haven't had any probs with traction or slippage either! KCSTEVE has the same tires and loves his too!

i have eagle II too. There junk. They pick up every pebble off the road. I may go with Pirelli's next run.

Have you had a front end alignment since you've had the Coopers on? Just curious as I loved the Cooper Tires I had but I couldn't find any place (2 GM dealerships and 2 Firestone) who could do an alignment due to the large rim protector that they had

so I ended up selling them.

Nope, hadn't asked about that, I bought these locally from Performance Wheel & Tire, so hopefully they have the equipment. Wouldn't I be able to get an alignment with my stock rims/tires also? They've already done that for me when I had the keys installed...

I was just curious on the alignment part, as the Coopers did not work out for me..... Yeah you could swap back to the stock set up to do alignments I guess

Here are my 20" NS Racing Wheels and 275/55/20 Falken STZ 04's They are polished aluminum, when I was looking I wanted something with some black on them but was not a big fan of the solid black spokes. I was getting mine Gatorbacked in black, have some TEAK running boards with black inserts and a TEAK rack over the bed covers, so I thought I needed a little black on the rims............I just realized, I do not have a good picture of my Avalanche since I put the wheels, the TEAK and the black Gatorback on but believe me it looks good! Here are the wheels.................

Besides the good looks the two things that I like about them the best is:

1. The large open spaces between the spokes make them very easy to clean.

2. A 5 spoke wheel with more open area will make the wheel look larger.

I know I am a little behind on this topic Chris but if it's not too late I totally agree with BD. Stay away from the Eagle GT II. That is what I have to and they are junk. They pick up everythying, they have been on two summers (remember I switch back for winter) and they are shot already. I need new tires as well but I can assure you that I won't be buying GY this time around. I will probably go with Jeff and Steve's tire or the Pirelli like BD. I have had Pirelli in the past with no problems at all.

I might also suggest that you try Tire Rack. They seem to have good deal on tires and sell the national road hazard plans with the tires. I am looking there soon because I need three sets of tires (one for the 20s, one for the stocks and one for the lady's car).

How did i missed this post? Sorry Jeff. I think you can paint it but my guess is they will wear off when rotating wheels,on and off and so on....

I've had issues with that one... they are double sided taped on and it works loose... it fell off a couple months ago and at the time that pic was taken it was on the floor in the back seat.

That is one bad ass AV. That is exactly the ride height I was going for and never made it. I gave up and traded mine in for an 07 but the boss says I can't lower this one. She "loves the ride in the new one!"

How did you get it that low? Air bags or chop the suspension? I love the looks bro, love it! I am sitting here just staring at the photo and smiling. I have one of those DUB (ok two of them) AV's and I wanted to make my AV look like the black one, you pretty much nailed it. Good job!

After lowering it 3 times, I realized it wouldn't be as low as I wanted unless I did "it"

took the plunge and bagged it. Ride quality is much better than it was with the 5/5 drop I had. Added drop spindles then removed the t-bars, keys, front shocks and sway bar. In the rear, I had the whole bracket that the bump stop mounts on removed (2-2.5" more clearance). THEN, I swapped the 305/40/22's for 265/35/22's (2.3" smaller diameter and 1.6" narrower) that allows me to be able to drive at that height with no rubbing, even at full lock turning. In the pic, it sits about 8" lower than stock.

I think I can go lower, but I haven't taken the time to get it on a lift to check things out under there. I know where its hitting in the rear and think its just a matter of a few minutes with a grinder to get it lower.

But I have to say I honestly didn't realize just how much a great set of wheels would add to the looks-I've gotten lots of comments from people about how they like the AV. Not that I was driving around town last night showing off or anything... ::)

thanks. its been throught a lot to get where it is now. Its taken me nearly 3 years of continious work in my off time. Once I get the interior complete, I think it will truely be a one of a kind truck (custom hood, Valanca door skins, custom dash bezel, relocated A/C and headunit and a 03+ console in an 02 with a stock dash

Yep, they are GM assesories wheels. (so I'm told by the salesman who sold me the Avy. It has the Bowtie on the centercaps.)

(305/35/24 Coopers) held up great considering at that size 4yrs Hwy driving 2 different vehicles, longevity was not really a design strong point,

I think I am getting off topic of the 20" or larger but,

GatorBACK comes in 3 colors that I know of.

02 grey
03 & up dark grey
and
GatorBLACK.

I have GatorBLACK on my 2002 truck. It coveres the old color well but is not bullet proof.
Rock chips, bugs, etc. may chip the coating but can easily be "touched up" with a shoe
shine like applicator.

The colors were matched to be Avalanche specific.

hi guys i am new to the site... but i plan on trying to be a active member. i have had my truck since it was new. i had 27inch lexani rims on it now i have one of a kind 28 inch gianna blitz rims on it. hope you guys like it. and i have a ton more mods going on this month. to name a few a slick kit,super charger kit, custom gauges, fiber optic taillights and 3rd brake light, crossed drilled and slotted rotors,koko bezel rim kit, escalade roof rack, ashanti grill and side vents,...plus a few more things. i got a ton done already but i will post it in another thread . thanks and enjoy

thanks bro.... i just got my gianna blitz rims last thursday. i waited for 3 months to have them custom made. there is still one piece missing on the rims that i am getting in today to complete them. its the koko bezel system. i will post up pics once i get them on

I was checking out the pix,..... what size is the wall of your tires? 35?

yeah i went 35 series instead of those horrible 25 series cause i haul a trailer with 2 jetski's or 2 dirt bikes... those 25 series arent for towing. i lifted the truck 1 inch in the front and 1inch in the rear. and trimmed out the fenders

I was buying 22's and the tire shop offered the 35's..... i didnt dig 'em too much. I ended up with 20's and 50 wall same Panther wheels.

here are the oversized rotors installed. they make a big difference in stopping power. especially for me since the rims are so heavy

yeah i believe they are 14 or 15.... cant remember. but they stop better then stock. and they look the part. i got them off ebay for 275.00 shipped front and back rotors and good no brake dust pads ....i needed new rotors anyway so it was worth it for me... if you want the link let me know i will post it up...
