I wouldn't do it in mine. I'm pretty sure they'd melt the housings.

Trust me, you really don't need anything more than 55W in the headlights. I've got them in the fogs and they are much brighter than the 35W I have in my headlight low beam.
2002 LPM Z71, factory 4.10s - Magnacharger w/3" pulley, TOG's headers, 216/224-.551/.551-115 cam/pushrods/dual springs/titanium retainers, built tranny, Yank TT2600 stall converter, 24K GVW Tru-Cool tranny cooler,  Flex-A-Lites, ProCold intake, MSD wires & TR6 plugs, 20" Panther Juice 6's, 2.8" rear lowering springs & assorted hardware, J&J Enterprises stainless grille, body-color painted taillight covers. Self-tuned with HP Tuners software.

If you want to see how hot HID bulbs really get with 35 and 55 Watt Ballasts...

Here is a comparison thread thats currently a WIP, which is measuring all HID bulbs, ranging from OEM, Korean, and to the 2 most common re-branded Chinese HID bulbs

You have to register to see the pictures of the bulbs, but the link to the spreadsheet is in the top of the post: http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?36443-H1-Bulb-Operating-Temperature-(and-other-properties)-Comparison

These are all H1 Bulbs, because there was a problem with some bulbs from DDM bulbs melting stuff, so  users tried to identify the source of why things were melting. It turns out, that it wasnt the bulbs doing it.

Yeah, I got promoted to a MOD there when they upgraded their forum because I helped in the migration/upgrade to the new forum system and the new owners thanked me with that promotion 0_o. I would've just posted the spreadsheet, but I wasnt sure on how the creator of it would fill, because in his spreadsheet he has links to the thread again.

Anyways, I think the user that is doing the heat testing, is going to do some UV testing later. I still cant believe that guy purchased so many bulbs. Some of the bulbs he has are also purchased directly from the manufacturers.

These measurements are measuring projectors, not reflectors. But you can still get an idea on how hot they get

I ran 80w in the lows and 100's in the highs (Halogen).  The 100's were fine as long as you didn't run them for a long time.  The lows melted my housings a little.  I was running 35w HIDs, I think.  More than enough light.

Lows were 6000
Fogs were 3000

I would go no higher than 55 w on your HIDs.  The 6000's (shown above) are a great white light.  I went with 3000's on the fogs to give the yellow cast.

I've got 35w 6000K's in my lo's and fogs.  I run with lo's and fogs and NEVER use my hi's, which are just Silverstars, for anything other than to flash.  The four HID's bright white light is more than enough light for the darkest roads here in NC.

Westin Ultimate Bull Bar, Billet Grille, 4 Fenders, Oznium Inferno Underglow, CupHolders(4), HID Lo/Fog, SilverStar Amber/Turn, GM Bugshield, AVS Vent Visors, MagLite, FireEx, LOF, Sail LEDs, Blue interior LEDs, Door Scanners, SteelSlide, Re-contented blue footwell lights, underhood light, Avalanche visor stickers, Headrest Mod, Bed light switch, Avalanche 3rd Brake light decal
