Driver1 and Driver 2 option gone in the '05 and up?
« on: November 10, 2010, 07:56:10 PM »
Twiggy's new to her Avy is an LT. Has just about everything on it including the memory seats, pedals blah blah blah.

We got a second remote off of ebay and I programmed it correctly ( Both ant once) but I'm not getting the different driver recall like I do on my '04 from two separate fobs.

Would be nice to have the seats and mirrors automatically set whenever you push the button on the remote. I've done a lot of reading about it tonight and it seems like the bcm needs it turned on after getting approval from GM for some reason or another.

Anyone else notice this on theirs?

I can't speak for the Av since on the 02s you had to use the buttons on the door panel. However, our 08 Enclave does not have the feature either. The owner's manual indicates it should and I programmed the remotes multiple times trying to get it to work. I asked the Service Manager when we had it in for a recall and he said it had been disabled in the bcm because of problems with reliability.

I've been researching this for a few hours now. Supposedly a TechII can fix this but it isn't recommended.  banghead1
I just figure with the prices of these vehicles that would be one thing they would want to keep the customers happy with. From the understanding I'm getting from googling the hell out of this subject, it's all controlled in the cluster. I think it's time I contact DDS about it and see what they say.

Our, excuse me, Gina's 06 doesn't have it either. They removed it from the Av in those yrs and gave it strictly to the Escalade.

Sounds like it. You can pick up a remote off eBay pretty cheap if you want the remote entry. Programming instructions are on here in a thread.

I'll check the Av (an '06) later this morning. Don't remember what I have since Paula doesn't drive it...

I can say that our 2000 Corvette does have the feature fully integrated. Remotes 1 and 2 trigger seat, tilt wheel, radio stations, even hvac settings depending on which one unlocks the car.  There also are buttons on the drivers door to select 1 or 2.

Westin Ultimate Bull Bar, Billet Grille, 4 Fenders, Oznium Inferno Underglow, CupHolders(4), HID Lo/Fog, SilverStar Amber/Turn, GM Bugshield, AVS Vent Visors, MagLite, FireEx, LOF, Sail LEDs, Blue interior LEDs, Door Scanners, SteelSlide, Re-contented blue footwell lights, underhood light, Avalanche visor stickers, Headrest Mod, Bed light switch, Avalanche 3rd Brake light decal

Interesting... I did some searching too, and came across one post where they said GM turned it off in '05 because less, um... Intelligent folks were complaining about their seats moving by themselves.  :uglystupid2:

That post went on to say dealer can reprogram it to be on, but they have to get 'permission' from GM.   :dunno:

I'm taking the Av in one last time before the GMPP runs out so I'll ask about it.

I read that same post. I sent a message to DDS on eBay  about it. I'm waiting to see what he says.
