Well after having this thing on for about a week I think I'm going to have to do something to it to help the sound. I had my son rev it to above 3000 rpm while I was back at the pipe and it's way worse on the outside than on the inside. Can you say "HOOVER"? At least that's  what it reminds me of outside. I think the pipe necks down too small from the 3" factory pipe to a 1.75" X 1" square tube running through the center of the tip with rerief holes opening to the two outer ports. I think I can open up a 1.75" oval hole on the bottom side of the pipe before it goes into the tip and relieve some of the pressure . If that don't work plan B make a new neck down with 3" ID pipe and open up the back of the tip more to accept a wider neck.

I added a relief hole to the bottom of the neck down pipe going into the tip and it helped to remove almost all the jet (HOOVER) sound until you are getting near the redline. Sound now is back to what it was under normal driving conditions.

Working 5:30 am to 5:30 pm next few days and will get pic when I can. It's dark when I leave and dark when I get home.

If anybody is thinking of using these tips I think they would work best sound wise if used in pairs where the tailpipe is the same size as the center exit tube on the tip. Example 3" muffler split to two 2.25" tail pipes to each side with these tips.

One more shot of the surgery. You can't really see the hole unless you are below the tip. The sound is now within my liking but I kind of hated to have to butcher the tip. At least it's not noticeable and the tip still functions on cold mornings the exhaust vapor still looks like it's coming out of the tip. If this thing rusts off or gets knocked off I'll probably go to one of these 3" in and dual 3" out. I ran one of them on my Dakota along with a Hooker "Aerochamber" muffler and it sounded awesome.

Well I got tired of the whistling from this tip and gave it the heave ho with a saws-all. Found a new one at our new O'rileys Auto Parts for less than $40 bucks and its stainless.
