installed h/u and amp+sub.. now i hear alternator whine.. help
« on: October 28, 2010, 05:25:04 PM »
well i finally installed my aftermarket cd player (nothing special waiting for a doubledin screen) and i did all the wiring myself. the amp has a good ground and plenty of power. the a/v cables are seprate from the power and the remote wire. but the problem is i hear a very annoying whine! banghead1 i pulled the 30amp fuse for the factory ampand the whining stopped but i only could hear the bass non ov the vocals.... any ideas or does anybody know the location of the amp?

The amp should be under your console. Take out the storage unit in the cosole, four screws under the liner and you should see it. But I think you may have to remove the whole console to swap it out.

Bullbar, Sailpanel LED'S, Elec Tgate & Sbag Locks, Custom Decals, Ventvisors, Lund Bug Guard, Amber's, All 4 Hi FTDRL, Mag Lite/Fire Ext Mod, Headrest Monitors, bedslide

You may have to bypass it completely and rewire the speakers.

You need to keep that amp for your chimes and such. Enkei is pretty good with this stuff. He'll see the post soon I'm sure.

Ok Ok  Sorry been busy guys...  What kind of amp and what is it powering? JUst a Sub? or did you get a 5Ch for all the speakers and a sub? What speakers are you using?  Stock or Aftermarket? With the right wire harness you might have to turn on the factory amp to get sound from the speakers..  I need more info please... :wavey:

The Amp you are using has had issue's with noise but you say it's coming from the other speakers. What harness did you use for the new radio to Bose Amp?
