Yes, it's back and better than ever!! 

It's Thanksgiving in Charlotte, and everyone is welcome!! 

Black Friday - we will caravan to Concord, have a late lunch at a local restaurant, then head to the track.  (Exact time & place will be posted shortly)

Need a stocking stuffer for the NASCAR fan on your holiday shopping list? Check out the gigantic Souvenir and Race Ticket Blow-Out Sale on Friday, Nov. 26.

NASCAR enthusiasts and holiday shoppers will have the opportunity to fulfill their dreams of driving around Charlotte Motor Speedway during the Souvenir and Race Ticket Blow-Out on Friday, Nov. 26. Shoppers who spend $50 or more on merchandise or race tickets, or donate $25 to Speedway Children's Charities during the annual day-after-Thanksgiving event, will be allowed to drive their personal vehicle for three laps around the legendary 1.5-mile superspeedway.

During the Souvenir and Race Ticket Blow-Out, Charlotte Motor Speedway will offer a full line of NASCAR memorabilia and apparel at reduced prices with many items selling for only $1. A wide variety of hats and t-shirts will be available starting at just $3. In addition, more than a dozen NASCAR souvenir rigs are expected to be on hand, offering driver and team merchandise at drastically reduced prices.

THEN: we will line up and drive through this awesome new light display: (We will probably car pool to lower the cost per person; it's $20 per vehicle.)

This holiday season, Charlotte Motor Speedway transforms into a winter wonderland!

Experience one of the largest drive-through light parks in the country. Visit the speedway to see the spectacular 2.5-mile drive-through Christmas light park and village featuring more than a million LED lights.

Open nightly from Nov. 22 through Jan. 2, Carolina Christmas will be one of the largest holiday light shows in the United States, featuring nearly 500 different LED light displays, a realistic Bethlehem-themed village, NASCAR souvenir rigs for Christmas shopping, Santa's Village and themed areas for children with food, music, rides and photos with Santa.

Operating hours : 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. from Nov. 22 through Jan. 2, 2011. Tickets are available online and at the gate nightly during event hours for drive-up traffic.

We would love to see the whole extended Av family, so come on down!!  We'll leave the light on for y'all!

Thanksgiving is our Tennessee family GTG and Xmas is our Texas GTG.  Would love to run a couple of laps on the track, but family first!!

Come join us on Turkey Day and make a weekend of it.

Activities will include the Speedway, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, a Christmas light display, and a cruise around beautiful Charlotte.
