« on: October 02, 2010, 09:52:07 PM »
So as always I am getting mod crazy!!  :uglystupid2: So was thinkin the next one would be that led bar that goes on the rear of the avy under the tailgate that lights up with your brake lights and turn signals and all, so what is everyones favorite one? Which one has the most features? I am running out of mod ideas so this is the next one I spose, so where do I get it also? Thanks guys!  :yourock:

My favorite is my one off creation.  But I am biased in the matter.

I haven't gotten around to buying a replacement for my original Altec LIne-of-Fire that's been on my truck for about 7 years now. When I do, here's the one I'm buying:

I've done a lot of shopping and that's the best price I've found anywhere for a light bar with the amber scanning turn signal.

After seeing Donnie's bar on the bottom of the tailgate at Bratfest I'm thinking that's where I may mount the new one. My Line-of-Fire is mounted on top of the "lip" on the bumper cladding. I didn't put mine there originally because I take my taligate off at least once a year.
2002 LPM Z71, factory 4.10s - Magnacharger w/3" pulley, TOG's headers, 216/224-.551/.551-115 cam/pushrods/dual springs/titanium retainers, built tranny, Yank TT2600 stall converter, 24K GVW Tru-Cool tranny cooler,  Flex-A-Lites, ProCold intake, MSD wires & TR6 plugs, 20" Panther Juice 6's, 2.8" rear lowering springs & assorted hardware, J&J Enterprises stainless grille, body-color painted taillight covers. Self-tuned with HP Tuners software.

Cracked rear bumper cover from a run-in with a deer in fall 2008!

You should know me by now; I'm a cheap=a$$, and a patient one at that!  :cheesy1:

I spend a fair amount of time researching and looking around for the best price I can find. There's been several things I bought for the Avalanche that took me over a year before I pulled the trigger, like my original purchase of the 20s and my copy of HPT.

I think I have one around here somewhere. If not, It's pretty simple although you need to hard wire it. The sequential signals won't work using the trailer wiring. The trailer harness for the turn signal doesn't send a long enough signal. Mine is tapped in behind the tail lights. I do NOT have it hooked up for the tail lights as I wanted the effect of that thing lighting up with the brakes to have a full effect.

Ya I am definitely going to hard wire it in and not use the trailer hitch. So was wondering if anyone had done a write up on the hardwire process just so I knew which wires to harwire to and all. I totally agree with you with not seting it up with the tail lights too to get the full effect of the stop lights! thanks OBB! can't wait to get the new wheels and tires, the leveling kit, and the firestorm on there, I think that should quench my MOD thirst atleast for a little bit!  :coolsmiley:

The only pix I can dig up doesn't show a lot of detail. buck2

The instructions that come with it are pretty good. Take the wires for the turns and tap them into the turn wires behind the lights. The reverse wire, power wire (I ran mine to the front before finding a constant 12v later in the trailer harness) and brake can be taken from the trailer harness. 5 connections total.

I thought of just getting a 4 pole flat adapter and using that to tie all my connections to (sail panel LEDs and lof except the turns) instead into the factory harness in case there are any problems down the line for troubleshooting purposes.
