OK Problems with the new HID's

 banghead1  Well just started to install the new HID's and well NOTHING!!! I dunno WTF!! It is an easy as pie install, just hooked OEM plug into the top of the ballast and then the two leads from the ballast to the light itself, and NOTHING! Any input??

here is a pic of them installed, the other is the package barcode which says (its blurry) 9005-9006 which is the bulb type I know but WTF?? ugggghhhh!  banghead1

Hmm...somebody didn't read all the other threads about that polarity issue  :whistle:   :evil5:

Hey Sean, if you have problems getting that plug to stay on, there's pix on here of how I took my factory plugs off and put the extra plugs that came with the HIDS on the factory wiring.

Ya I know use the search function and ye shall be saved!  :whistle: Well thats all it was no bigge, and no worries about the plug either it only takes a sec. to release them and just turn it around to make it all work right! haha! GM training came in handy atleast for that part of it!  :thumbup: Thanks guys workin on em right now and will share the results!   :yourock:

2002 LPM Z71, factory 4.10s - Magnacharger w/3" pulley, TOG's headers, 216/224-.551/.551-115 cam/pushrods/dual springs/titanium retainers, built tranny, Yank TT2600 stall converter, 24K GVW Tru-Cool tranny cooler,  Flex-A-Lites, ProCold intake, MSD wires & TR6 plugs, 20" Panther Juice 6's, 2.8" rear lowering springs & assorted hardware, J&J Enterprises stainless grille, body-color painted taillight covers. Self-tuned with HP Tuners software.

Cracked rear bumper cover from a run-in with a deer in fall 2008!

Ok really how in the hell did I ever drive without these!!  :thumbsup: This is by far one of my favorite mods so far!! These new HID"s are the bomb!! Thanks guys for everything and as promissed here are some pics!  Oh and standby for a little mini write up on how to change the clip around without cutting anything up! Figured it was the least I could do after pulling my DUH!! move!  :yourock:

OK So here is a mini write up on how to swap that factory clip around

You have to pull off the blue hold down clip, it just has clips on each side!

Next just get a little pick and stick it in the one side, and you just have to bend down a little tang on the connection itself, do the same for both sides and it will pull right out

Once you have them out all you have to do is bend that little tang back up before you put it in it's new side so it will hold itself in there.

Once you bend those back out just slip em back into their new spots and you should feel it click into place and you wont be able to pull it back out.

Once you have that done just snap the blue retainer back on and you are good to go!!

I can't believe that no one mentioned that it even tells you DDM's website that you may have to reverse the plugs.

Nice write up and congrats on the HID's, I truly love mine as well!!!!!  I never had the problems with needing to reverse the plugs but I used the relay harness for all of mine.
02 Z-71, Pewter, Cladded, Fully Loaded. Mods:  ArmorThaned Cladding, FT Amber DRL's,Mag light mod,Bug Deflector,Door vent shields,Z-71 sun visor decals,Z-71 mountain decals on rear quarters,F@rd torsion bar adjusters,Front KYB shocks,1-1/2" rear coil spring spacers,rear KYB shocks,BFG A/T LT285/70R17, rear bumper cup holders, 05+ efan mod, GMT900 Front Brakes with Drilled & Slotted Rotors on all corners.
